Can your internal audits count toward our ISM audit programme?
Yes. We audit to the requirements of the ISM Code and your SMS, and our auditors are independent of the areas they audit, so the reports can form part of your internal audit programme.
Who carries out the audits?
Experienced Master Mariners and chief engineers who have run ships themselves. They know shipboard reality from experience.
How do remote audits work?
We review records, ECDIS and VDR data, passage plans and maintenance history sent from the ship, then interview officers by video. It is a practical option between port calls or when attendance is difficult.
Can you audit during a voyage?
Yes. A navigational audit is most useful underway, so our auditor can join at one port and leave at the next.
