Privacy policy

How we handle your personal data

Effective 4 October 2026. Prepared under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, with an additional notice for the EEA, UK and Switzerland.

Navium Maritime ("Navium", "we", "our" or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose and protect personal data when you visit our website, communicate with us or use our services. We process personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and other applicable laws.

"Personal data" means any information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, address or email address.

Personal data we collect

We collect only the personal data needed for our business and the services we provide. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • Name, company name and designation
  • Email address, telephone number and postal address
  • Information you submit through our quote, call-back or contact forms, such as vessel details, port and dates
  • Recruitment information submitted with job applications
  • Communication preferences
  • Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, website usage data and cookies

You can browse most of this website without giving us any personal data. If you submit personal data about another person, you confirm that it is accurate and that you have their consent or are otherwise permitted to share it.

How we collect it

  • When you complete a form on our website or request information about our services
  • When you book a call, message us on WhatsApp, email or phone us
  • When you apply for a job with us
  • When you subscribe to newsletters or marketing communications
  • Automatically, through cookies and similar technologies, when you visit our website

How enquiries from this website are handled

When you submit a form, your enquiry is emailed to our operations team at operations@naviumship.com and recorded in a secure enquiry log hosted on Google Workspace, so we can reply and follow up. If you book a call, the booking is handled by our scheduling provider. If you message us on WhatsApp, the conversation takes place in WhatsApp under its own privacy policy. We may send you an automatic email confirming that we received your enquiry.

If you apply for a job through our Careers page, your application is emailed to operations@naviumship.com and recorded in the same Google Workspace log, and your CV is stored in a restricted Google Drive folder. We use it only to consider you for the role you applied for and for future openings, keep it only as long as it is useful for that, and delete it sooner if you ask us to. If you apply through LinkedIn, LinkedIn's own privacy policy also applies.

Why we use your personal data

  • To respond to enquiries and provide the information you request
  • To deliver and manage our services and maintain client relationships
  • To communicate about quotations, contracts, projects, invoices and support
  • To improve our website, services and user experience, and to monitor website performance and security
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations
  • To send newsletters or marketing communications, where you have consented or the law permits

We process personal data only for lawful purposes and only to the extent necessary for those purposes.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to improve functionality, analyse traffic, enhance security and understand how visitors use the site. We may use Google Analytics to collect aggregated information about website usage, including the campaign or website that referred you. You can manage or disable cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work as well without them.

Sharing your personal data

We treat your personal data as confidential and share it only:

  • With service providers who help us run our business and are contractually required to protect it
  • When disclosure is required by law, regulation, court order or a government authority
  • With your prior consent
  • During a business restructuring, merger or acquisition, where legally permitted

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

Retention and security

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, to meet legal or regulatory requirements, resolve disputes or enforce our contracts. When we no longer need it, we securely delete or anonymise it. We use appropriate technical, organisational and administrative measures to protect personal data. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Request access to your personal data
  • Request correction or updating of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request deletion of your data where legally applicable
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Ask how we process your personal data

Legal bases

We process personal data on the basis of your consent (for example, newsletters or cookies), the performance of a contract or steps before entering one (for example, answering a quote request), legal obligations, or our legitimate interests in running and improving our business, provided those interests do not override your rights. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.

International transfers

Navium operates from India, so your data may be transferred to, stored or processed in India or in other countries where our service providers operate. Where the GDPR applies, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

Your GDPR rights

You have the right to access, correct or erase your data, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, receive your data in a portable format, object to direct marketing at any time, and not be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing. We respond within one month, unless the law allows an extension. Navium does not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Complaints

You may complain to the supervisory authority in your country of residence, place of work or where the alleged infringement occurred. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in law, technology or our business. We will publish the updated version here with its new effective date.
